The UK pharmaceutical sector is required to store vast amounts of data relating to its products, processes, and customers. As such, appropriate data management processes must be implemented to ensure the security and availability of all data.
Data must also be secure as the UK pharmaceutical sector is particularly vulnerable to cyber-attacks due to the sensitive nature of the data it holds. In 2022, more than 4,100 publicly disclosed data breaches occurred in 2022 equating to approximately 22 billion records being exposed.
In order to protect the sector from such attacks, a strong cybersecurity strategy must be implemented to ensure the security of all data. Ensuring the security of all data is essential for the UK pharmaceutical sector.
